INTRODUCTION

In mid - 1992 the Olympic Flame Arrow was fired to announce the Official inauguration of the Barcelona Olympic Games. At the same time, a white flag was created with the five stars and the Royal Crown of Our Majesties the King and the Queen of Spain, announcing, to the Five Continents, the Opening of the majestic Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, which was the Official Hotel for 42 Heads of State and many of the highest authorities in the political, economical, cultural, artistic, sporting and social world.

The Catalonia Palace of Congresses which is connected with the Hotel via The Gardens, has surprised everybody with its architectonic beauty, natural day light, functionality and capacity, - spectacular Auditoriums, - spacious Exhibition room, - 24 adjustable meeting Room, and Business Center, offering the highest technology. The 3800 m2 kitchen with the best Chefs working under the guidance of our head chef Serafín Bueno can serve 3500 persons with a high level of quality and service.

AUDITORIUM

It is one of the Palace´s jewels and it is equipped with a last generation audiovisual system. The Auditorium has a capacity of 2.027 people with the particularity that it can be divided into two independent spaces ( upper and lower level ) by an automatic panel.
