TIBIDABO

|
Tibidabo
is the highest point of the Serra de Collserola hills, an extensive
woodland area that has been converted into a metropolitan park
500 metres above sea level. There is an excellent panoramic
view of the city from the top. The Temple Expiatori or
Church of Atonement, the Amusement Park and the communications
tower, 268 metres high, are silhouetted against the skyline.
The Amusement Park, dating from 1901, combines traditional and
symbolic attractions as the "Atalaya" which dates from 1921,
or the Museu d´Autòmats, with the most modern installations.
The most daring can try out thrilling rides such as the "Hurakan",
"Tibidabo Express" and the "Mina d'Or" combined with admission
to the terrifying "Krüeger Hotel", where the live performance
of more than 17 gruesomely costumed actors is guaranteed to
scare you out of your wits.
To get the most out of your visit to Tibidabo, take the Tramvia
Blau (Blue Tram), a true symbol of Barcelona which leaves you
at the foot of the Tibidabo funicular railway which will take
you on the last leg of your journey to the top of the hill.
